Few Things, Endless Discoveries

Dubomedy’s Stand-Up Showcase hits Social Distrikt Downtown

According to information compiled by Few.ae editor, Dubai’s homegrown comedy collective Dubomedy is bringing its stand-up showcase to Social Distrikt’s HUSHH venue at Dubai Mall Fountain Views on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard this Sunday, 9 November. The early show seats at 5:30 PM and starts at 6:00 PM; admission is free with a minimum of one food or beverage per person. A second late show is also scheduled the same night. Venue policy is 21+.

What you’ll see on stage

The early show features graduates of Dubomedy’s fall stand-up workshops, joined by members of the troupe performing fresh material—an easy entry point for newcomers and a reliable laugh-fest for regulars. These graduation-style showcases are a core part of Dubomedy’s ecosystem, built to give new comics a professional stage with a supportive room.

Who’s behind the mic

Founded in 2008 by veteran entertainer Mina Liccione and Dubai comedian-producer Ali Al Sayed, Dubomedy pioneered the UAE’s comedy scene with training programs, festivals and stage platforms that have nurtured hundreds of performers. Their mission remains simple: build a sustainable local community for “all things comedy.”

The venue and its setup

Social Distrikt is an experiential food hall, bar and entertainment hub at Dubai Mall Fountain Views (Ground Floor). Expect multiple kitchens, a central stage area and flexible seating; recent venue materials note configurations for 500+ guests when events call for it. The showcase happens inside HUSHH—Social Distrikt’s gaming-and-nightlife zone—tucked right within the Fountain Views complex.

Space, tech and amenities

The Downtown location spans around 42,000 square feet of dining, games and nightlife concepts, which helps the room feel lively even before the first punchline lands. HUSHH adds extras like AR darts and duck-pin bowling—handy if your group wants to keep the night going after the show.

Date, time and admission

Early show seating opens 5:30 PM; showtime is 6:00 PM. Admission is free, but seating is limited and you’ll need to RSVP; there’s a minimum of one drink or one food item per person. A late show follows at 8:00 PM (seating) for an 8:30 PM start.

Getting there by Metro, car or taxi

The nearest stop is Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Metro Station on the Red Line; from there, follow the air-conditioned walkway into the mall and head to Fountain Views. If you’re driving, Dubai Mall’s Fountain Views parking is listed among the main car parks, and HUSHH’s directory entry specifies P3 in Fountain Views. Valet services operate elsewhere in the mall if you prefer drop-off. Taxis and ride-hailing can use the Fountain Views access on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard.

Practical weather note

For the 5:30–6:00 PM window, the forecast shows hazy sun around 30°C, easing to the high-20s by 8:00 PM—light layers and breathable fabrics will keep you comfortable walking from the Metro or parking to the venue.

Food and drink on site

One perk of hosting comedy inside a food hall: choice. Social Distrikt curates a roster of global brands, from pizzerias and BBQ to Asian street bites and desserts, so groups with mixed tastes can settle in before showtime or nibble during the acts. The one-item minimum can be met with either a dish or a drink.
