Few Things, Endless Discoveries

Peppe Voltarelli & Luca Ciarla Live in Dubai

“According to information compiled by FEW.ae editor,” on Thursday 2 October 2025, Dubai will host The Fridge Presents: Peppe Voltarelli & Luca Ciarla at The Fridge Warehouse, located in Alserkal Avenue, Al Quoz 1. Doors open at 7:15pm (19:15), and the performance begins at 8:00pm (20:00). The dress code for the evening is smart-casual. Children aged 0-3 attend free. Ticket prices start from AED 110.

Venue Details and Technical Setup

The venue, The Fridge Warehouse, is one of Dubai’s prominent creative spaces. It’s an urban warehouse venue designed for live music, performance, and arts. Capacity is up to 180 seated or 250 standing, depending on how the space is configured.

Natural lighting is possible through two large skylights in the warehouse, though they can be covered if needed with prior notice. There is a full in-house PA system, including two subwoofers, two main monitors, a 16-channel audio mixer, and two microphones.

Parking is fairly convenient: there are parking lots on both sides of the warehouse and a newer lot at the entrance of Alserkal Avenue on 17th Street. Access for loading, technical equipment, and staging is supported—stage removal is permitted for larger floor space, although that may involve additional charges.

Artists: What to Expect Musically

Peppe Voltarelli is a veteran Italian singer-songwriter, actor, and writer, originally from Cosenza. He has led the folk band Il parto delle nuvole pesanti and has released several solo albums. Among his recent works is La grande corsa verso Lupionòpolis, recorded in New York. He has been awarded the prestigious Targa Tenco multiple times.

Luca Ciarla is an accomplished violinist and composer who blends folk, jazz, classical, and world music styles. He works often in improvisation and is known for marrying traditional sounds with experimental soundscapes. In this event, he will share the stage with Voltarelli in what is described as a fusion of Calabrian songs, experimental soundscapes, folk and jazz.

The event is presented in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Abu Dhabi. The set list will include selections from Voltarelli’s latest album La grande corsa verso Lupionòpolis and other pieces showcasing both artists’ inventive styles.

Timing, Weather, and Transport Considerations

Temperature in Dubai in early October tends to be high during the day, around 35-36°C, with a warm evening likely, cooling to about 23-25°C overnight. Humidity remains fairly high, though evenings are generally more bearable. Rain is very unlikely in early October.

Attendees should plan to arrive early, especially given Alserkal Avenue’s traffic and parking patterns in evening hours. By car or taxi are straightforward options; there are multiple roads leading to Al Quoz (e.g., Sheikh Zayed Road → Al Manara Road → Al Khalil Road) that connect to Alserkal. Bus transport is possible, but final leg usually requires walking or a short ride. Platinumlist Dubai

Given the heat earlier in the day, scheduling arrival closer to or shortly before doors open is wise. Inside the venue, the warehouse is climate-controlled, but outdoor waiting areas or transit may expose attendees to heat. Dressing in smart-casual with breathable fabrics will help. Also, since the event begins after dusk, lighting and stage visibility are good.

Atmosphere, Expected Audience and Extras

The tone of the evening promises to be intimate and artistic rather than high energy pop. Audience members can expect storytelling, musical nuance, folk-roots explorations and a blending of tradition with modernity. The Fridge Warehouse is known for its raw but polished atmosphere: good acoustics, close proximity between artists and audience, and strong production values.

Because of age inclusivity (children 0-3 free), some families might attend, but majority likely music enthusiasts familiar with folk, jazz, or experimental music. Smart lighting, careful lighting transitions, and stage ambiance will matter. Technical delays are less likely given the experience of the organizers.

What to Bring and What to Expect on the Night

Bring your ticket (printed/digital), I.D., some cash or card for refreshments, expect some walking from parking to venue entrance. Stay hydrated, especially if you’re outside before doors open. Sunscreen or sun protection earlier in the day is useful. Given the evening heat, a light jacket may be optional but often unnecessary.

Know that sound levels inside the warehouse will be loud enough for live music, but given proper PA and monitors, clarity of voice/instrument expected to be good. No major constraints on photography generally, but checking with venue rules is advisable.
